Jury Trial Against Julieta Makintach Resumes in La Plata

The jury trial against Julieta Makintach, over the documentary scandal in the case of Diego Armando Maradona's death, resumes today. The trial, which was suspended last Friday, November 7th, due to a power outage in La Plata, will continue with the testimonies of judges VerĂ³nica Di Tomasso and Maximiliano Savarino. Both were part of the Criminal Oral Court (TOC) No. 3 in San Isidro alongside Makintach during the footballer's death trial, which was declared nullified after it was proven that a documentary was produced. It will be a crucial day as the two magistrates will report on the accused's movements within the court and her role as a member of the panel during that trial. Nevertheless, Makintach has an ace up her sleeve: to show conversations she had with her colleagues, which would demonstrate that both were aware of the documentary and should therefore also be judged. In one of the group chats, she reassured them about the images to be recorded inside the courtroom: 'Stay calm... from now on, they won't film you or leak any evidence. But... I will give the formality that Klass needs, even though the Court did not require any.' Last week, the jury trial was suspended due to a power outage at the Annex of the Chamber of Senators of the Province of Buenos Aires, located at 7 and 49, in the city of La Plata.
